Week 14 How to read a DARS report
It's occured to me how often I've spoken poorly of our DARS report, but this is more out of my own frustration with the report than with the efforts poured into creating the report. Even though it can be confusing and cause students to think they are (or aren't) going to graduate, it is an important document because it actually determines whether or not you'll graduate. It must accurately and completely record all of the requirements of your degree so I suppose it's important that you know how to read it. This week, hints on what to pay close attention to and what you can ignore so that the DARS report might be a useful tool.

Read DARS once then go back over it and it does make sense. Lots of information broken down into how your classes fit into all requirements that need to be met for graduation.

Andy,
Thanks for the recap of the DARS report. I have found the DARS to be helpful when in need of quick reference and when discussing my degree with the graduation dept. It is however important in a program such as ours to make sure that you communicate with either your advisor or you,Andy, to make sure you are ready to graduate! Thanks again for the info.

I was able to follow along and understand the DARS report much better once I had it in front of me as you explained it than if I had had it up without the use of your podcast. The information was clarified in a more comprehensive way, which proved easier for my understanding of the material printed on the actual report. It answered a lot of questions that I had previously been unclear about. Thanks for breaking it down in such a practical way.
